Worst product : Poetic(TM) KeyBook Removable Bluetooth Keyboard and Leather Book Style Case for iPad 2

I got my iPad 2 as a tool for researching my dissertation, and had shopped around quite extensively for a case/keyboard that will both function well and not hinder the portability of the iPad, since I'm gearing up for an extended stay in Germany to continue my research.

As this case is made for the iPad 2, it holds the device snugly and has cut-outs for the home button, camera, and side volume and mute controls. The bluetooth keyboard connects very easily and, as one would expect, is somewhat smaller than a laptop-sized keyboard. Even still, adjusting to the smaller keys (and somewhat distant right-side shift key) has been no problem. The keyboard can even switch between international keyboards, in my case English and German, just like the Macbook does (command + space). Additionally, the case is equipped with magnets to hold the keyboard in place, hold the closing flap in place, and to put the iPad to sleep when teh case is closed, just like the Apple-designed cover.

The issues with this case are few, but noteworthy. When closed, the keyboard presses directly onto the iPad screen, so I would recommend getting a screen protector (the ones made by Zagg are excellent). When the iPad is in the case, there is a small flap that folds around the top of the iPad to ensure that the device does not slip out the top, however, this flap covers the microphone, which will require the owner to move the flap should s/he need to record audio or use an app like Skype.

All that being said, I'm definitely glad I purchased this case and would recommend it enthusiastically. It's not perfect, but for the price and my requirements of use, this cover can't be beat.
